Education Qualification :

Police Constable : The applicant must have passed Madhyamik Examination under W.B.B.S.E or equivalent
Driver : The applicant must have passed Class VIII Examination from any school recognized by Govt. of West Bengal with a valid Driving License to drive heavy vehicles.

Age Limit (As on 01.01.2012) : Minimum 18 Years – Maximum 27 Years.

Pay Scale / Salary : Rs. 5400 – 25200(PB 2) + Grade Pay of Rs. 2600 + allowances

Selection Procedure : Written Exam – Personal Interview

Fees : Rs. 150/- (No Fee for SC/ST) payable in the form of Postal Order or Demand Draft in favour of “Kolkata Police Recruitment Board” payable in Kolkata.

Kolkata Police Jobs 2012 – Vacancy of 836 Sub Inspector ( Male & Female) . Kolkata Police invites application for the post sub inspector, lady sub inspector at Kolkata. Graduate candidate can apply for this post. Eligible candidate will go through written test. More details are below : -

1. Name of Post : -Sub-Inspector/ Lady Sub-Inspector

• Qualification : Citizenship of India, A bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University or its equivalent,Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from hill areas of the District of Darjeeling).
• Posts : 836 Posts.
• Age : 20-27 Years.
• Pay Scale : Rs.7100-37600/- + Grade Pay Rs.3900/-

Physical Standards : A. For the post of Sub-Inspector in Kolkata Police: (i) Male Candidates: (a) Height – 1.67mtrs. (b) Weight- 51.5 kgs., (c) Chest Measurement: i) Minimum 79 cms after exhalation. ii) Minimum expansion of 5 cms after inhalation (expansion) (d) Vision-according to Health Manual. (ii) For Lady Sub-Inspector Candidates: (a) Height – 1.60 mtrs. (b) Weight- 45 kgs., (c) Vision-according to Health Manual. B. For the post of Sergeant in Kolkata Police: (a) Height – 1.73 mtrs. (b) Weight- 63 kgs., (c) Chest Measurement: i) Minimum 86.36 cms after exhalation. ii) Minimum expansion of 5 cms after inhalation (expansion) (d) Vision-according to Health Manual. Women candidates shall not be eligible to apply for the post of Sergeant.

Application Fee : Candidates must deposit a fee of Rs. 150/- (Rupees One Hundred Fifty) only in the form of A/c payee Demand Draft from any Nationalized Bank or IPO in favour of ‘Kolkata Police Recruitment Board’ (KPRB), payable at Kolkata. It may be noted that Treasury Challan, Money Orders, Cheques, Cash etc. will not be accepted. No application will be considered unless accompanied with the requisite application fees. Candidates belonging to SC/ST category of West Bengal only are not required to pay any fee. The application form without fee of such candidates will not be accepted if the same is not accompanied with attested photocopy of SC/ST certificate issued by the competent authority of West Bengal in a prescribed format. O.B.C candidates of West Bengal are, however required to pay usual fee as aforesaid.
