Situated in the IT-city of India Bangalore city Bangalore University is the modern university which is famous for its cutting-edge technological study. This university was established in the year of 1886 and has the recognition of one of the oldest university in the country. Bangalore University is also the member of Association-of-Indian-Universities (AIU) and is close to be awarded the status of “Potential- for-Excellence” which is reserved in the top 10 universities in the country as set up by the UGC.
Earlier Bangalore University was referred to as the Central College which was set up in the year of 1886 by the British Government which was intended towards awarding the university degrees. From the Central College this university was name of Bangalore University which was further recognized by the UGC, University-Grants-Commission on 10th July 1964. Its name was changed by the State Government of Mysore which was intended towards taking the higher education to the next level in the Bangalore city. The university at present has been operating from the two campuses the one of which is known as the Central College Campus and another campus is known as the Bharathi Campus.
